Amazon Web Services, also known as AWS, is a leading cloud platform that offers more than 175 services from different data centers available around the globe. Details of AWS Certification Program
All in all, AWS has a portfolio that includes 12 certifications. They are split into two categories: core and specialty validations. There are six core certs that are organized on three difficulty levels. The first one is Foundational, the second is the Associate, and the last one is the Professional level. The AWS Foundational certification requires six months of experience using AWS Cloud services as well as basic industry knowledge. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification is ideal for those candidates with non-technical roles who want to learn how the AWS platform works. The vendor recommends that the candidates should have at least 6 months of practical experience using AWS Cloud infrastructure to enroll in this certification program. The exam necessary to obtain the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification has the code CLF-C01. It checks the applicants’ following skills:
- Understanding of basic cloud concepts;
- Management of issues related to security and compliance;
- Technology topics;
- Pricing and billing.
The allotted time for each candidate to finish such a test is 90 minutes. Also, they will receive multiple-choice and multiple-answer questions. The registration process is finalized by paying a fee of $100.
AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty
The AWS Data Analytics Specialty certification focuses on those candidates who want to get a role in the area of data analytics. Amazon recommends that the applicants for this certification should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with data analytics technologies. Also, they should demonstrate that they worked with AWS architecture for at least 2 years before applying for this certification. The exam necessary to obtain this certification has the code DAS-C01, where candidates will need to answer both multiple-choice and multiple-answer questions. They will have 180 minutes to get a minimum passing score of 750 points. Also, the candidates must pay a registration fee of $300 to enroll in this test. The candidates can obtain the passing score in the AWS DAS-C01 exam if they demonstrate that they have the following skills:
- The lifecycle of data collection;
- Data storage and management;
- Data processing;
- Analysis and visualization;
- Data security.
AWS Certified Developer Associate
The AWS Developer Associate certificate focuses on candidates who want to develop a career as developers and who have the necessary skills to deploy, develop, and debug AWS cloud features. One of the prerequisites for such validation is that the candidates have a minimum of 1 year of practical experience developing and maintaining apps with the help of AWS systems. Also, they should know how to work with high-level programming languages and understand how different AWS services such as SDKs, CLI, or AWS CLI can be used to improve business processes. To earn this qualification, candidates have to take only one exam, which is coded DVA-C01. On the exam day, candidates will have 130 minutes to answer multiple-answer and multiple-choice questions. They should also obtain a minimum of 720 points to pass the final exam. Also, the registration fee that they have to pay before taking the exam is $150. During DVA-C01 exam, the applicants will need to answer questions related to:
- AWS cloud platform deployment;
- Development of AWS services;
- Monitoring and troubleshooting.
